About Us

We are just a couple of twilight fandom fanfiction authors who wanted to do something to bring awareness to the issue of Sexual Assault. Aylah50 had a conversation one day with Coldplaywhore and the rest, as they say, is history. They recruited their friends, fellow authors and family members to help with the cause and hope to raise $10,000 (in total) worldwide for various sexual assault charities.

Aylah50: Anyone who has read “The Ride” knows how important sexual assault awareness is to me. But, if you haven’t, I’ll share a bit of my story with you here:

I was assaulted in 1995 when I was 15 years old. I don’t have the words to describe what that event did to me, and the heavy shame I carried around every day until my first “Take Back the Night” event at college in 1998. On that day, everyone who had been, or had known someone who had been the victim of sexual assault or rape had a black “X” painted on their faces. By the end of the day (and the beginning of our march), almost every single person on campus had their faces painted with their own personal pain. I was shocked to see just how many people were affected by this.

The rest of the evening was groundbreaking for me. We held a silent vigil on campus carrying candles, and the powerful march culminated in an evening preparing shirts for The Clothesline Project. While we poured out our souls in the form of art, anyone who was willing shared their stories. I saw how many women had been traumatized by rape and assault, and I vowed to never keep silent about it again.

Too many of us are destroyed by this, too many of our hearts and mind are chipped away daily by the memories of what happened to us. Please help us bring awareness to this important cause.

coldplaywhore: I tend to believe that no matter who you are, sexual assault has affected your life in some way. My family has been affected directly by sexual assault, as I had a cousin who was assaulted by a friend of her family when she was growing up.  I wasn’t aware of this fact until very recently and though I couldn’t have done anything about it at the time, I feel like it would be remiss of me to do nothing at all.

Through our wonderful association in the fandom, any fandom not just the twilight fandom, I think we have a great platform to help raise awareness and money for such a wonderful cause.

Aylah50: your story is very moving – keep sharing it! Too many people think they’re alone, which just adds to their shame. In my life: my brother, my best friend, & my niece. I pray I never have to add to that list.

  4. I just love you girls. I’m so sorry this happened to you and I feel your pain.

Very touching and moving story, Aylah. I’m sorry that ever happened to you.
Just like coldplaywhore I have someone close to me, a very dear friend who was the victim of abuse.

Wonderful thing, you girls are doing by taking the time organize this!

    xx
